Laser Cavity Detection
During an exam, if there are questionable areas of decay, after the hygienist has cleaned your teeth, a laser diode called a Diagnodent is used to detect decay where traditional techniques may not identify the cavity. This light-emitting device gives a digital readout that indicates the depth of the decay which provides Dr. Dillon with a way to verify problem areas. Even very small caries lesions can be detected at an early stage.
